Baby Idiots

We found out today that we are baby idiots. Let me first set the story up just a bit...

We have to take some items for use by the orphanage in Russia. These items can be clothes for the kids, antibacterial lotion, surgical gloves or masks, baby vitamins, shampoo, developmental toys, etc.

We walked aimlessly around Wal-Mart trying to figure out where all these things were. Sure, some of them were easy to find, but which ones are grouped together? Which ones are in the baby section vs. the pharmacy? Which ones are with detergents or soaps? Do they group child clothes for 12 months or less, and those more than 12 months in different groups, or are they all mixed together?

So I looked at Brandon and said "we are baby idiots"! I know we'll figure all this stuff out, but if anyone could tell me what section baby vitamins are in (that is, children UNDER 2 years), let me know.

Actually, you probably don't need baby vitamins per-say, unless they are advised by a pediatrician due to a deficiency. This is what I have learned.

Other things I have learned are, most all things baby are in the baby CLOTHING sections at both Target and Wal-Mart. Target keeps their diapers in a separate section with the baby food (oddly between the shampoos and pet supplies, but this is only usually the case at Super Targets. Regular Target has everything together.). The baby meds, are generally found in the pharmacy in the same section as the adult meds for the same ailment. You can usually find a starter kit with a lot of the usual necessary meds like gas drops and infant Tylenol in the baby section though. Probably considering the age of your daughter, you will want to have some teething products and gum soothers on hand right away too.

I hope this is helpful. Can't wait to meet her!

There will be MANY more times that you'll feel like an idiot, so don't worry.....it goes away.

By the way, the BEST teething medicine you can use are the Hyland's teething tablets that you can find at Wal-Mart and other places. They're like $5 or $6 for a little vial, but they are GOLD. 2-3 tablets under their tongue and their pain goes away almost immediately. Don't waste time on anbesol or anything else. Do yourself a favor.....
